How to Sign In on Another Device

Want to use Piggy on your phone and your desktop? Good news: signing in on a second device is usually quick and smooth. Here’s how it works depending on your setup.

General Flow

  1. Go to pig.gy on your new device.

  2. Tap Sign In → “Sign in with passkey.”

  3. Approve using Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or PIN.

In most cases, that’s all you need—especially if your passkey is synced across devices.

Common Setups

Mobile → Desktop (Adding a Passkey)

  • On your desktop (even a public computer), go to pig.gy, enter your Piggy handle, and click Sign In.

  • A QR code will appear.

  • On your original mobile device, scan the QR and approve the sign-in.

  • Go to Settings → Security, then click Add a new passkey.

  • You’ll be asked to approve using your original passkey, then prompted to create and save a new one on the desktop.

In most setups like macOS and iOS, this is seamless.
In trickier setups like iOS to Windows, you may need to cancel a prompt or scan the QR again—just follow the on-screen instructions.

macOS → iPhone (iCloud Keychain)

  • Passkeys sync automatically through iCloud.

  • If both devices already have access, you might see an error when trying to “add” a passkey again.

  • Fix: Just sign in—don’t add. If needed, cancel the prompt and choose “Use another device” to scan the QR.

macOS → Android

  • iCloud doesn’t sync with Android automatically.

  • Fix: Cancel the prompt and choose “Use another device” to scan the QR.

  • Your new passkey will be saved in your Google Password Manager.

Windows → Android

  • If you’re using Edge or Chrome with Google sync, this usually works instantly.

  • Fix: Cancel the default prompt, tap “Use another device”, and scan the QR using your Android.

  • Approve on your phone and save the new passkey.

Quick Tips

  • If the first prompt seems off, cancel it to see more options.

  • The QR code flow works across all platforms, even between Apple and Android.

  • If you’re just signing in (not adding), no need to create a new passkey.
